The Collectors Show - Bad Baby Names & Action Figures Print

This week we interview the collectors of some very bad baby names who wrote a book about their collection. The book is available from Ancestry.com, by Michael Sherrod and Matthew Rayback (Ancestry Press, $9.95).

The authors researched U.S. Census data dating back to 1790 to find names like "Love Gunn," "Young Boozer," "Willie B. Long" and "Mary A. Jerk." Their most thrilling discovery, however, was an actual person named "I.P. Freely." There is a whole page on girls named "Lotta" -- including "Lotta Love" and "Lotta Bumm" -- along with children called "Crayon," "Vaseline," "Lard" and "Satan." They make a name like "Harlow," the moniker of Nicole Ritchie's baby, look dull.

For more horrible names, and more information on the book, visit www.badbabynames.net.

We also discuss action figures and specifically figures from the WWE and Jakks Pacific.
