Host Bio: DAVID STEINMAN, founder of the Green Patriot movement, is an award-winning environmental journalist and environmental health consumer advocate. He is the author of several books, including "Diet for a Poisoned Planet: How to Choose Safe Foods for You and Your Family", "Safe Trip to Eden: Ten Steps to Save Planet Earth from the Global Warming Meltdown", and "The Safe Shopper's Bible: A Consumer's Guide to Nontoxic Household Products, Cosmetics, and Food".
Steinman has testified as an expert on seafood safety before a congressional subcommittee and for the National Academy of Sciences' Institute of Medicine. Recently, Steinman exposed the presence of the petrochemical carcinogen 1,4-dioxane in major brand children's bath products and in brands claiming to be "natural and organic" as well as traditional brands of personal care products and household cleaning products (in collaboration with the Organic Consumers Association, the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics, and the Environmental Working Group). Steinman has served as Chairman of Citizens for Health and Advisory Board Member for The Green Guide Institute. Steinman's company Freedom Press publishes groundbreaking books on health and the environment as well as the national magazine "The Doctor's Prescription for Healthy Living". Steinman is known for his unique perspective and bold opinions.
